When we began building Sosius, we wanted it to be the world’s most flexible and extendable online collaboration, office and networking tool. So we created it from the ground up with third party open access through a standard API.

If you're a developer (or if you know one) you can build your own server side or client applications so you can use Sosius in the way that you want to.

We call our developer offering ‘OpenSosius’. Presently it is made up of an API which uses OAuth authentication. With the API you are able to access both the social data that links people, networks and groups, and the data stored by users within their workspaces.

Social

Extract or integrate the network data that users within your groups have on Sosius with additional functionality or tools.

Data

Post and extract all your data directly to and from all item types - files, folders, databases etc.

Fully integrate Sosius online storage and collaboration tools within your users desktops.

In the future we also plan to open up Sosius to allow you to add business services functionality.

There’s virtually no limit on the flexibility that access to the underlying structure of the Sosius engine provides developers. Build online and desktop applications such as a Google map mash-up of your networks, make desktop widgets, provide powerful syncing tools with full permissions and version controls.

Share and promote yourself

We’ll shortly be launching a way for developers to distribute what they’ve created to all Sosius members. You can promote your tools and creations as shareware and we will even be developing ways to allow you to sell them on Sosius. You can also of course promote your skills to organizations who use Sosius and they can contact you to do bespoke work for them. More details to follow soon.
