For small miniatures with fine faces, textures and delicate detail, resin printing deserves close consideration. For larger terrain, simple models and a more straightforward filament workflow, FDM may be a practical choice. Decide with representative files and a complete workspace plan rather than a photograph of the best example from either technology.

Ask for the representative model in the condition in which it will be painted or displayed. Support scars can affect a visible face even when the original print looked detailed. A delicate feature that breaks during cleanup also changes the practical result.
Orient the model with the important surfaces in mind. Inspect where supports attach and whether they can be removed without damaging adjacent detail. A different orientation may improve the finish while changing time and material consumption.

Avoid general claims that every resin is brittle or every filament model is tough. Formulations and geometries differ. The relevant evidence is the exact material and a representative finished sample.
For a mixed workload, a hybrid approach can be sensible: one process for larger recurring terrain and another, owned or outsourced, for fine characters. The purpose is to match the work, not to force one technology to win every comparison.
